To increase the number of rural start-ups that are able to learn and grow at CCMA, we are launching a scholarship program that will cover the costs for three promising rural start-up grocery co-ops to attend CCMA. We will work with Food Co-op Initiative to promote the opportunity and will prioritize rural start-ups in the third stage of development to ensure CCMA content is relevant to them.
Who should apply?
- Food co-op located in a rural community - US Department of Agriculture defines rural as a location with a total population less than 50,000.
- Your co-op must be operational within the last two years (opened in 2020-2021) or be in Stage III of Food Co-op Initiative's development stage. Stage III is Implementation meaning that a store site has been selected and the cooperative is moving into the construction phase.
What does the scholarship provide?
- Complimentary registration to CCMA 2022
- Travel costs related to traveling to CCMA including flights and/or mileage, plus hotels and meals.
Deadline is March 9, 2022.
